The Meaning of Justification

October 29, 2017 Text: Romans, Galatians and Hebrews

 

The Just Shall Live by Faith in Romans speaks of POSITION: Romans 1:16-17. Faith always has a Direct ObjectChrist!

The Just Shall Live by Faith in Galatians speaks of  PRIVILEGE with God in Galatians:  the just shall LIVECf. Galatians 2:20.

Faith is Exclusive: “The righteous man shall live by faith” – v. 11 cf. Habakkuk 2:4.

Faith is Exciting! This life is to be lived because Christ lives in me! Gal. 2:19-20; 3:1-5.

III. The Just Shall Live by Faith in Hebrews speaks of PERSEVERANCE for God in Hebrews:  the just shall live by FAITH!  Hebrews 10:35-39:

The first encouragement is a call to remember. v. 32.

The second encouragement is the anticipated reward: v. 35.

> No man who draws back has saving faith.  Saving faith is continuing faith.

Lessons/challenges:

  1. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. Know who you are in Christ and don’t let the evil one deceive you.
  3. Rest in the promises of God in Christ.
  4. Stay the course!
  5. LIVE!
