The Meaning of Justification
October 29, 2017 Text: Romans, Galatians and Hebrews
The Just Shall Live by Faith in Romans speaks of POSITION: Romans 1:16-17. Faith always has a Direct Object: Christ!
The Just Shall Live by Faith in Galatians speaks of PRIVILEGE with God in Galatians: the just shall LIVE! Cf. Galatians 2:20.
Faith is Exclusive: “The righteous man shall live by faith” – v. 11 cf. Habakkuk 2:4.
Faith is Exciting! This life is to be lived because Christ lives in me! Gal. 2:19-20; 3:1-5.
III. The Just Shall Live by Faith in Hebrews speaks of PERSEVERANCE for God in Hebrews: the just shall live by FAITH! Hebrews 10:35-39:
The first encouragement is a call to remember. v. 32.
The second encouragement is the anticipated reward: v. 35.
> No man who draws back has saving faith. Saving faith is continuing faith.
- Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Know who you are in Christ and don’t let the evil one deceive you.
- Rest in the promises of God in Christ.
- Stay the course!
